Face Time Fun

Face Time Fun

Face Time Fun

As we prepare to read Number the Stars we have been reviewing WWII. One of my students' Great Grandmother was in a concentration camp from age 8-14. She is still alive yet as you can imagine discussing this time of her life is extremely emotional. Her son however was more than willing to Face Time with us. Wow, what a great conversation we had. The students and myself learned so much and walked away feeling thankful for all we have. At first one of my students said to me that she was lucky she did not have to go to school during this time but later said he he would rather go to school all day and all night then live like she did. We also found out that the moms in the camp taught them the best they could, using the dirt as their teaching tool.
